Not every driver wants another app on their phone, especially on a one-time trip. App-less charging lets anyone charge at an EVee Buddy station with just their phone camera and a UPI app.
The four steps
- Scan. Every charger has a QR code. Scanning it opens a secure charging page in the phone's browser, already linked to that charger.
- Pay. The driver picks an amount and pays with UPI.
- Charge. Once payment is confirmed, the charger starts and the page shows the session's progress.
- Go. When the session ends, the driver unplugs and gets a digital receipt.
Why it matters for site hosts
For charge point operators, every driver who leaves because they could not start a session is lost revenue. App-less charging removes the biggest hurdle for first-time and occasional visitors, which helps keep chargers busy.
What about regular drivers?
Drivers who charge often still benefit from the EVee Buddy app, which adds live station availability, saved coins and session history. Both options work on the same chargers, so every driver can pick what suits them.
