Festival seasons bring family visits, holiday trips and crowded highways. More EVs on the road at the same time also means busier chargers. A little planning keeps your trip stress-free.
Before you leave
- Charge fully at home or work the night before.
- Plan charging stops and a backup for each, using the EVee Buddy app.
- Check that your app wallet has enough coins, or keep UPI ready for app-less charging.
- Pack the car's portable charger in case a destination has only a suitable socket.
- Check tyre pressure, especially with a full car and luggage.
On the road
- Expect queues at popular fast chargers on peak days; travel early morning or late evening if you can.
- Stop at around 15–20% rather than running low.
- Charge to about 80% at busy stations so others can charge too. See the charging curve.
- A heavily loaded car with air conditioning uses more energy, so allow extra margin.
At your destination
- Ask your hosts in advance about charging; a properly installed outlet or charger makes overnight charging easy.
- Do not use extension cords from household sockets. See home charging safety.
- Look for nearby public chargers for a quick top-up before the drive home.
Be a good charging neighbour
Move your car when charging is done, and be patient in queues. Everyone is trying to get home for the festival. See charging etiquette.
